Barrio Donas

¡Órale! Located in Clairemont, San Diego, Barrio Donas represents the multilayered cultural experience that comes with living in San Diego while emphasizing the radiant beauty of Mexican-American culture – in the form of a donut.

Growing up in both cultures, grilling hamburgers and carne asada with the familia, or snacking on Oreos and Bubu Lubu on the way to school, encouraged Jonathan to recreate flavors that often pair so well together. Drawing on everything his father taught him about pastries since he was a child, he decided to create a hybrid donut shop that showcases the many flavors of both Mexican and American cultures, using family recipes and the highest quality ingredients.

At Barrio Donas, we strive to create a “buena onda”, a shared space that welcomes one and all. Whether you’re craving café de olla cold brew or a maple bar, we have the best of both worlds!
