Bud’s Louisiana Cafe is the 9th successful restaurant from Bud Deslatte. Each restaurant was sold to a loyal and talented employee to continue Bud’s mission of serving authentic Creole and Cajun cuisine in the New Orleans Manner.
We are an authentic Creole restaurant that specializes in the traditional dishes of “The Big Easy,” the name that New Orleans received because of its laid back “joie de vivre” (way of life).
Creole and Cajun food have similar roots, but Creole food is a more sophisticated version of Cajun food. Creole food is cooked more lightly, in several pans, and then served in the dining room. Cajun food is usually cooked in one pot, and is eaten in the kitchen. Creole food is also known as “City Food,” and has been more strongly influenced by traditional French, Italian and Spanish cooking, while Cajun cooking is more strongly influenced by French, Indian, African and Caribbean cooking.
