Canyon Ridge Baptist Church

After more than five years of prayer and preparation, Pastor Chris Chadwick and his wife, Debbie, arrived in San Diego in September of 2002 to establish a Bible-believing church. Canyon Ridge Baptist Church became a reality in November of 2002. Today, Canyon Ridge remains a loving, active church serving the Linda Vista community of San Diego!

From the beginning, Canyon Ridge has focused on meeting people in the community, knocking doors, and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church met in the Kearny Mesa Recreation Center on Sundays and for a brief time in the Chadwicks’ home for their mid-week service. The Lord blessed immensely. By 2004, not only had CRBC grown numerically, but had become financially self-supporting.

Throughout 2004 and 2005, Pastor Chadwick and various realtors searched San Diego for a permanent location for CRBC to purchase or lease. In 2006 and 2007, the need for a larger, more permanent location became a necessity. By January 2008, Canyon Ridge had outgrown the Rec. Center and had moved its services to Chesterton Elementary School.

This new facility provided a larger, more secure place to meet, but CRBC continued to set up chairs, a sound system, musical instruments, classrooms, a pulpit, and signage three times a week. Cheerfully and consistently the congregation gave and served with the hope that Canyon Ridge would have the opportunity to purchase its own facility and thus be enabled to impact the community more effectively.
