Cubberly Elementary

At Cubberley, we are pleased to offer a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on academic excellence and social emotional support for all students. Last year our stakeholders made it clear that our students’ social emotional well-being was a priority. To that end, our SSC made the decision to increase our funding for counseling time. We have added a day of counseling and have hired a guidance assistant to support students. Instruction is focused on every student reaching or exceeding California State Standards. This year our teachers will be working diligently to ensure all of our students are reading at grade level by the end of the year. This summer, our teachers participated in several trainings including a Literacy Institute in order to implement our Literacy Acceleration Plan. Our professional development will go in depth into literacy-focused best practices; in addition, we will use frequent assessment data to inform personalized instruction.

Every year we face change and challenges; this year will be no different. We are confident that, just as we have always done, we will rise to the occasion and not only overcome the challenges, but use them as opportunities for growth. We will keep our students at the center of our decision-making and will make this will be our best year yet!
