Toler Elementary School

Toler Elementary School is a remarkable school! From our garden to our playground and inside each one of our innovative classrooms, Toler connects with the wonder and magic of the preschool-elementary school years. Located off of Morena Blvd., across from Mission Bay, we serve students in the Clairemont-Mission Bay neighborhood and many students from across San Diego who choice into Toler. We are proud of our vibrant campus that reflects the diversity of America’s Finest City. Toler fosters a strong sense of belonging for all students.

Toler offers a variety of amazing learning opportunities.  Our learning community works in concert to ensure that all students reach their highest potential. Innovative curriculum, project-based learning, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration are hallmarks of the many cutting-edge programs at Toler. Literacy skills are embedded into every aspect of learning. Our highly skilled and dedicated staff, engaged, involved parent community and active volunteers enrich the learning environment. Our counselor works in tandem with classroom teachers to provide opportunities for students to cultivate their social-emotional well-being and sense of connectedness. Our STEAM Program integrates relevant, real-world learning, technology and the arts into core standards. Upper grade students participate in our music program; we offer band and orchestra. All students enjoy PE instruction twice weekly with our amazing P.E. Coach.  Toler’s small school size (235 students) and family atmosphere helps to create a home away from home on our campus and allows for differentiated learning to meet the needs of all learners. All classroom teachers are trained in differentiated learning strategies and blended learning (integrating relevant technology skills into learning).

Toler’s long-standing tradition of excellence (since 1958), amazing staff, outstanding students, and unique mid-century campus makes for an extraordinary elementary school experience. Toler’s mission in action, “to prepare all students to be literate, dynamic thinkers who are respectful leaders ready to soar in an ever-evolving world”, is a sight to behold each and every school day!
