Hey Neighbor!

Well, we got clobbered by rain. The National Weather Service showed Kearny Mesa’s rain totals at 1.86 inches over a three-day period from Monday through Wednesday. Anyone else’s weeds popping off right now?

Last summer, residents rallied to oppose a cell tower in Cadman Parkβ€”and won the battle. Now, there is a new proposal for a cell tower in Gershwin Park in Clairemont, leaving residents on edge. The topic was discussed at this week’s Clairemont Community Planning Group Meeting, and residents who oppose it will have further opportunity to voice their opinions at next month’s meeting on March 17.

⛔️ Street With No Name

A previously unnamed alley in the Cabrillo Heights area of Serra Mesa will get a name. The City Council will vote on March 2 on whether an alley between Macawa Avenue and Larkdale Avenue will be named Itay Way (which, by the way, means ‘with me’ in Hebrew).

πŸ•Pizza Pie Buh-Bye

The Pizza Hut on 6911 Linda Vista Road served its last pie this week. This location was one of 250 locations nationwide to close as part of the company’s restructuring. Most of the closures will affect dine-in locations.

πŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈ Sharp Kearny Mesa Gets a Facelift

Sharp Rees-Stealy’s medical offices in Kearny Mesa just underwent a $65 million update. Project improvements include a new pharmacy, centralized imaging services, a separate parking structure, and spruced-up landscaping. A new pedestrian bridge connects the parking structure to the buildings, improving accessibility.
