Hey Neighbors!
The days are slowly (or is it quickly?) getting shorter, but that doesn’t mean we are short on fun things to do in the neighborhood.
Why not check out the Linda Vista Farmers Market today? It runs from 2 pm to 7 pm every Thursday, and it’s a great way to support local.
I’m a vegetarian, so I didn’t sample the meat at Heavy’s Smokehouse, one of the vendors, but the elote corn cup was

LOCAL SPOTLIGHT
Farm Fresh

The Linda Vista Farmers Market has been around for more than a decade (minus the COVID years), but many locals outside of Linda Vista may not be aware of it. This small but mighty market is community-run, with an emphasis on making fruits and vegetables accessible to low-income families in a neighborhood without a grocery store.
Additionally, they offer a variety of other goodies, including Michelin Star-inspired barbecue, vegan churros, Filipino lumpia, crafty goods, and Hawaiian jewelry.
Many of the vendors live in the community themselves, which allows them to further integrate themselves into Linda Vista’s multicultural fabric.

Feel Good Story of the Week
Fourth-grade Linda Vista Elementary student Eddie Garcia suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, making physical activity challenging. His teacher and her husband hatched a plan to change that, building Eddie a Formula One-style racetrack. Now, Eddie uses his adaptive wheelchair to race his friends around the track at recess, Jimmie Johnson-style.
