Hey Neighbors!
If you’re in the mood for Italian tonight, you’re in luck because a new restaurant makes its debut this evening.
Plus, get some cool bennies with your library card, and enjoy a smorgasboard of events.

LOCAL SPOTLIGHT
Your library card is a hidden goldmine

Using your library card only to check out books is soooo 1995. Beyond the books, you can do so much more with a San Diego library card—and potentially save thousands of dollars when you take advantage of all its benefits.
Here are just a few of the perks of library card ownership:
- Free State Park entry with a parking pass
- Discounts or free entry to museums, the Zoo, and even San Diego State football games
- Free Rosetta Stone language learning app
- Free Udemy online learning courses
- Free access to test prep (ACT/SAT/LSAT) and a scholarship database
LOCAL NEWS
Openings & Closings
Romanella, formerly La Pastaia, on Clairemont Drive, officially opens today. Be sure to make a reservation. Here’s a sneak peek inside. What do you think?

Beard Papa’s, a global Japanese cream puff chain, opens on October 4 on Convoy Street. They’ll have some grand opening giveaways, so be sure to check them out.
Starbucks is closing multiple stores across San Diego. Its Genesee Plaza location has already shuttered. All the more reason to support our local coffee and tea spots nearby, like The Forum Coffee House or Me-Me Tea & Dessert.

PET OF THE WEEK
Meet Macaw
This cutie patootie ginger is hoping to be your new favorite feline. Macaw is just over the one-year-old mark. He’s friendly, social, and loves to sit on your lap to be pet. He’s vaxxed, chipped, and neutered, and waiting to be picked up by you at the San Diego Humane Society.
