We love our dogs in San Diego (and we’ve got some of the cutest in the neighborhood). We love them so much that we like to bring them with us when we go out for a bite to eat, a beer, or a cup of coffee. To make it easy for you to find dog-friendly businesses in the neighborhood, we’ve put together this extensive list where you can bring Fido when you’re out in Bay Park, Clairemont, Kearny Mesa, Linda Vista, and Serra Mesa.

Several of the establishments offer dog-specific menus, some offer treats, and some offer a whole lotta love.

Surveys show that dog ownership in San Diego is as high as 72%, and we’ve consistently been ranked among the most dog-friendly cities in the nation. Our love of dogs has grown at a feverish pace since the nineties, when only 21% of San Diegans claimed to own a dog (isn’t that wild?).

Since we are home to nearly 500,000 dogs, it’s no wonder that we have so many businesses that let your pooches tag along. We’ve outlined the dog-friendly establishments by neighborhood, and noted what type of outdoor space is offered. If you see a space as uncovered, it means no patio covering or umbrellas.

Kearny Mesa Dog-Friendly Establishments

Kearny Mesa tops the list for the most options for bringing your canine companion. From upscale to breweries, and even taco shops, Kearny Mesa loves seeing your pups.

Serra Mesa Dog-Friendly Establishments

Serra Mesa doesn’t offer quite as many options as most other local neighborhoods for bringing your pup, but it does have places with special menus and treats made especially for your dog. You and your dog will leave happy.

Clairemont Dog-Friendly Establishments

There are plenty of patios for your pooch if you’re venturing out in Clairemont. Pizza and a brew for you, beef and bacon for the pup at places like Best Pizza. Or spread out with your dog at the Clairemont Town Square food court. You’ve got options in Clairemont.

Bay Park Dog-Friendly Establishments

Bay Park certainly loves its dogs. And the neighborhood businesses love them right back. Bay Hill Tavern even has a “Howl of Fame” wall of photos of local pups. Kick back on one of the neighborhood’s many patios and relax with your pooch at your feet.

Bay Ho Dog-Friendly Establishments

Bay Ho may be just a little slice of a neighborhood, but it still shows love for the pups. Whether you want to chill with a brew or nosh on sushi, get it done with your pup in Bay Ho.

Linda Vista Dog-Friendly Establishments

Grab your pup, and come with an appetite for dessert. Enjoy a sweet treat with your dog on the cozy patio of Cocobomb in Linda Vista. (There’s got to be more than one dog-friendly place in Linda Vista—if you know of more, drop a comment).

Taken on Linda Vista Road, facing Mesa College intersection. Thought behind it? Sometimes the directions are right in front or us, but its our choice to decide to take them... or not... Cheers! @DeanoNeano619
