Hey Neighbor!
Father’s Day is Sunday, so don’t forget to buy your dad something he’ll never use. I kid, I kid. For all you dads, thank you for being you, and enjoy your special day.
I’m on the final stretch of my European vacation, so I won’t be home to celebrate with my pops, but I’ll be sending him my love from afar.
Let’s dig into this week’s news.

Fun San Diego Neighborhood Facts: Clairemont, Linda Vista, & More

New Parking Lot Opens
It’s not often you hear of more parking options these days, but the new parking lot near the Clairemont Trolley Station opened this week. This means 145 more parking spaces for trolley riders.
End of an Era
After an eight-year run in Kearny Mesa, Angry Pete’s Pizza is calling it quits. Housed in a former Taco Bell location, the Detroit-style pizza joint had a dedicated following. The non-renewal of its lease is cited as the primary reason for the closure. An anniversary/going out of business party will take place on June 20 and 21 with 50% off beers.
No ADU Signs Spotted in Clairemont
Residents of Clairemont are creating professionally made signs to display their protest of widespread ADUs in the neighborhood. The OB Rag also recently ran their second “Worst ADU Contest,” and the ADU project at 4578 Jicarillo Avenue in Bay Ho took the top prize. It features 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.

Fire Breaks Out at Montgomery-Gibbs Airport
An early morning fire destroyed two hangars at Kearny Mesa’s Montgomery-Gibbs airport. Fortunately, firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. The cause is still being investigated.
